Monothon 2009 - Artist Printing Sessions and Youth Monothon:Master fine-art printers from around the country will be leading five-hour back-to-back workshops for beginning, emerging, and established artists interested in trying their hand at the fun and unique process of making monotype prints. A "monothon" is a printmaking marathon based on the creation of original monotypes. For a contribution of $250, each participant in the Artist Printmaking Session receives a five-hour session in which to print a monotype under the tutelage of a master printer and a press assistant. Each artist has the opportunity to create up to ten prints per session. All paper, ink, and supplies are included. Back to-back sessions of five-hours each are available per day for $450 (one artist). Oil- or water-based- sessions are available. The Youth Monothon contribution is $150 per participant, for one five-hour session. At the end of the printmaking session, one print is selected from each artist for the silent auction on Saturday, November 21, 2009, the proceeds of which go to CCP. The artist keeps the other prints she/he has made.
